Arizona WingNuts is an AMA chartered club. Our charter was first granted on May 8, 2006, and our AMA club number is 4702. We are classified as an "electric only" club.

As of this writing, the Arizona WingNutz consists mainly of dedicated e-flyers residing in Mesa and Gilbert. We are currently looking for a permanent home in either Gilbert, Mesa or Apache Junction.

To become a member, you need only have a current open/senior/youth AMA membership, and pay a $20 annual club membership fee (pro-rated at $5 intervals per Quarter. Example, for April-July, the fee is $15 the first year). Youth memberships (under 18) are $4 per year.

Since we do not currently have a permanent home, anyone (club member or not) is welcome to come fly with us wherever we may be flying. We ask only that you follow the basic safety guidelines when operating your aircraft, and observe frequency control.

If you are new to the RC flying experience, flight instruction is available. Many of our members have years of experience flying model airplanes, and are more than happy to pass along their wisdom. We have 4 club members who participate in the AMA Intro Pilot program. It is helpful if your radio transmitter is capable of connecting to another transmitter in the "buddy box" configuration, but it is not required at this time.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time, or come on out to the fields and say hi.
